Finn's first Christmas

I always love Christmas time, but this year is different. This year is so much better! Bennett and I cannot imagine being any happier then we are with our little family. Finn is such a blessing and we couldn't ask for anything more. But it would not be Christmas if you didn't spoil your 3 month old with gifts that he can't use yet or that are totally unsuited for your house! Don't get it... here are some visual aids!

Finn opening presents!

Finn's new floor mat and play gym.

Finn and his Johnny Jump Up is not made for old houses with 11 foot ceilings! Oh and maybe Finn is a little small for it! Here is a link for a little video we made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUdPc4kaLa4

Bennett and I enjoying our first Christmas with Finn. We have stayed home all day and Bennett made oyster dressing and cornish hens for dinner..yummy! We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Rainy days are a bummer for little boys

I have been back at work for 2 weeks and it has been really tough. It is, however, exciting to come home and play with my little Finn and to see what Bennett has been up to with him. It rained all day for about 4 days straight and all Finn wanted to do was go outside and play. Since he couldn't Bennett set up the next best thing.

Finn is getting so big and he changes everyday- we love him so much!

Thug Life

Finn Patrick A.K.A "Lil Stank-Britches" gettin' his stank on in the club, our bathroom, on the dancefloor, our vanity. Note Finn's partner in crime "The Notorius D.A.D." Word to your Mama-

So big, so fast

Finn is 3 months old and weighs 12lb 7 oz and is 22 1/4 in long! Hard to believe our little premature baby ever weighed 5 lbs. He is doing so great and we couldn't be happier! I recently finished my first weeks back at work- it was really hard, but Finn has 2 great babysitters... a friend of mine 3 days a week and his daddy the other 2! My first weeks back went well and ended with a trip to the doctor for Finn's 3 month well check. He is right on schedule and has already made up for being 5 weeks early! We are really excited about our first Christmas with our little man! He changes everyday, he is smiling so much now! We couldn't be happier! Here are some recent pics!

Finn's hair

Not only were we blessed to have a healthy, beautiful baby boy, but we were lucky enough to have a baby with a lot of black hair for us to play with! During Finn's 11 weeks on the earth he has had many hair styles so I wanted to share them with you!

This is how he might fix his hair if he were going to Jazz Fest!

This is how he will wear it when he dresses up like Shrek for Halloween!

This is definitley how he would fix it for a very important office meeting!

This is everyday laying around the house in a basket hair!

And of course... the MOHAWK!

We hope you like Finn's hair as much as we do!

Dancing in the Bathroom

Finn really doesn't cry very much, however he gets a little grumpy in the evenings. Last night Bennett decided that since I am going back to work in 2 weeks and he will be keeping Finn 2 days a week, he should be the one to get Finn to stop crying . So after 10 minutes of inconsolable crying I walked away- it was the only thing that kept me from crying myself. After a few minutes I didn't hear crying anymore so I walked to the back of the house and this is what I found.

One thing that Finn really likes is dancing. During bath time we always play music and he loves it. Bennett took Finn to the bathroom and it worked like a charm It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. I guess there will be lots of dancing while mom is at work!

The NOLA Luke's

Hello All!

Bennett and I wanted to tell everyone about our little man! Finnegan "Finn" Patrick Luke was born Friday, September 11, 2009 at 6:23PM, 5 weeks early- to the day! The day Finn arrived we had a 2 p.m. docters appt in which we were told all was well and we were right on schedule, everything was fine. After our appt we went to the store to get something for dinner then returned home to enjoy a quiet friday evening. At 4 o'clock Finn had a different idea- while napping on the couch my water broke! Bennett was in the shop working on a changing table for the baby who had just decided to make an early entrance- the table was never finished! Finn was born 5 lbs 8 oz, 17 1/2 inches just 2 hours later and went straight to the well baby nursery, he was absolutely perfect!
In the past 10 weeks Finn has thrived beautifully! He is now 10lbs, 6 oz, 21 inches! He loves taking a bath, smiling for his daddy, getting his hair fixed by hisdaddy, having them stankin' britches changed and sleeping through Audubon Park runs! The other day he saw Bryan Batt (of Mad Men) and Christian LeBlanc (of the Young and the Restless) while sleeping during one of our morning runs.
We love Finn, he is the greatest, cutest baby and we are so blessed! We are so excited to raise him in New Orleans and are looking forward to all the good times to come!
